Contractor Financial Services isn’t just another accounting or placement agency—it’s the culmination of a lifelong passion for the construction industry. Growing up around construction sites, I was immersed in the trade from an early age. Two of my uncles owned construction companies, and my dad was a framer. I can still remember sweeping floors to help clean up, the smell of sawdust in the air, and the silhouettes of workers against the setting sun as they finished a roof. Construction isn’t just a career for me—it’s part of who I am.
Early in my career, I explored other industries but always returned to construction. I loved the idea of being part of something tangible that would stand long after the work was done. Despite despising math in school, I found my niche in job cost accounting over 20 years ago. Somehow, the numbers just made sense when it came to construction. I became fluent in the language of this industry, working alongside everyone from laborers in the field to CEOs and business owners.
For a time, I thought my dream was to own a construction company. I even co-owned an electrical contracting company for 16 months. Ultimately, I realized that while I didn’t want to leave the construction world, running a construction company wasn’t my calling. What I loved was helping construction companies thrive—so I launched Contractor Financial Services (CFS).
Over the years, I’ve learned to speak to many audiences, whether it’s explaining financial strategy to owners or helping field teams understand how their work impacts the bottom line. I’ve often been told I’m not your “normal accountant”—and I take that as a compliment. Accounting and finance can seem boring, but I have a knack for breaking it down in a way that clicks for others. Normal is overrated, anyway!
